For us, and all our fellow Ambedkarites, The Fourteenth of April or Ambedkar Jayanti is a day of reckoning and recognition. This issue - our first, explores the multifarious ways in which people around India celebrate and experience this day. We look at how Jayanti is connected to regional anti-caste movements, how its history is embedded deeply within physical spaces, and how it becomes a site of reclamation - provoking thought, creating new cultural practices and building solidarities beyond borders.
